Greg is a leader in the field of backdrop design and production and has been a fixture in scenic departments in the Hollywood area for over 30 years. Becoming a journeyman scenic artist atWarner Brothers Studios, Greg spent 15 years painting backdrops, murals and props for movies such as Die Hard, Spiderman, Ghostbusters, Superman, Lethal Weapon, Scrooged, Born on the Fourth of July, Back to the Future, just to name a few. In 1995 Greg accepted the position of Lead Scenic Artist at Superior Backings in Hollywood. There he drove the design of hand painted backdrops for such names as Green Day, Cold Play, Pearl Jam, Jimmy Buffet, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart and the Foo Fighters.
In 2011, Greg joined Grosh Backdrops and Drapery to lead Grosh Custom as our Creative Director. With full accountability for every aspect of the final creation, Greg manages teams of artists as they paint to the exact specifications of our clients without losing sight of his “art”. By encouraging individuality and “one of a kind” spirit within his team, Greg develops a style only a hand painted creation can offer. Greg has a knack for visualizing clients’ ideas and patiently working with them until a draft design is agreed upon and an artistic project is set into motion.
