All of our Backdrops & Drapery are inspected upon
return from every customer to assign a Backdrop or Drapery Condition
Status and to plan when repairs are needed. Grosh Scenic Rentals
is proud of the quality of our inventory, and wants you, our valued
customers to know the exact condition before you rent. Many Backdrop
flaws can be minimized by the proper use of lighting. Ask your Consultant
for more information.
10. Backdrop in new condition, useable for all venues.
9. Backdrop in like new condition, drop has been
rented and returned with minor repairs that are not visible on
the face of the drop. Useable for all venues.
8. Backdrop in newer condition; item has been rented
and returned with slight wear. May include minor cracking of the
paint in areas. Useable for all venues.
7. Backdrop that has been rented and returned with
minor wear associated with mild cracking of the paint in less
than 50% of the backdrop. Useable for all venues.
6. Backdrop that has been rented and returned with
minor wear associated with mild cracking of the paint in more
than 50% of the backdrop. Useable for all venues.
5. Backdrop that has been rented several times and
returned with standard wear associated with medium cracking of
the paint throughout the backdrop. Can be improved with proper
lighting.
4. Backdrop that has been rented several times and
returned with standard wear associated with medium cracking of
the paint throughout along with some heavy cracking in dark areas.
May have some fading in the design. Can be improved with proper
lighting.
3. Backdrop that has been rented several times and
returned with heavy wear associated with heavy cracking of the
paint throughout along with fading of the design some dusting
of the paint and minor stains.
2. Backdrop that has been rented and returned with
extreme wear associated with a combination or all of the following:
heavy cracking of the paint throughout the piece, excessive fading
of the design, dusting of the paint, noticeable repairs and various
stains.
1. Backdrop that has been rented and returned with
extreme wear associated with a combination or all of the following:
major cracking of the paint throughout, faded design, several
stains, noticeable repairs, dusting paint, brittle fabric. Drop
in as-is condition.
A - Excellent. This drape is in exceptional condition.
The piece is full, lights well, in new or like new condition.
(Useable for all venues)
B - Above Average. This piece is in good condition
overall. The drape may have minor repairs that are easily minimized
with the proper use of lighting. For strip/rain curtains, 80%
of the strips are in tact and light very well. (Useable for all
venues)
C - Average. The item is losing some of the nap
and may show some fading. It has noticeable repairs that can be
minimized by the proper use of lighting. (Useable in staged productions)
D - Below Average/Vintage Drape. This item
has a combination of some or all of the following. Several noticeable
stains and/or repairs, water damage and fading throughout the
drape. For strip/rain curtains, more than 50% of the strips have
been replaced and have noticeable wrinkles in them. Items categorized
as such are subject to sell off inventory.
